Contemporary Dance
Beginner & Intermediate: In this course, we focus on the dance principles of Contemporary Dance with an emphasis on the active use of the floor (Floorwork). We work on movement sequences that emphasize dance expression, coordination, flow, flexibility, and the connection between the body and the floor. Structured and guided movement exercises, as well as contact sequences (partnering), alternate throughout the class. Additionally, there will be guided Bodywork sessions to enhance body awareness and relaxation.
Attention: The course takes place in the Dancelab W130 at the campus in the red field (Wilschenbrucher Weg 84, 21335 Lüneburg).
Movement.art: In this contemporary course we work with different dance-choreographic forms of expression and different musical styles. We use movement techniques based on modern dance, neo-classical and individual forms of expression. In addition, spatial conditions and various media forms will be integrated. We can deal with current issues that concern you as dancers through choreography and dance by processing them through dance and giving them choreographic expression. In the process, new, expressive and special dance works will be created time and again. In addition to the course dates on Thursday, a second date on Sunday morning will be offered, as far as space permits.
Attention: The course takes place in Studio21, Gym2 on the main campus (Universitätsallee 1, 21335 Lüneburg).
Fusion: The Contemporary Fusion course invites you to discover movement as an expression of your own emotions. Fluid, organic movements are combined with powerful accents and clear choreographic structures – creating a dynamic blend of technique, flow, and performance. After a mindful warm-up, we work with fundamental contemporary elements, short improvisational prompts, and expressive choreography. The focus is on musicality, body awareness, and developing an authentic presence and expression – not on perfection. This course is for dancers with prior experience (Level 1–Open Level) as well as beginners who enjoy movement – anyone who wants to express themselves artistically, consciously experience musicality, and work on choreography that is both emotional and modern. In a supportive space, you can experiment, feel, and grow; let go, immerse yourself, find strength – and let movement speak for itself!
Attention: The course takes place in the Dancelab W130 at the campus in the red field (Wilschenbrucher Weg 84, 21335 Lüneburg).
