Hi everybody! My name is Paola, and I've been attending different dance classes at Leuphana over the past two years. Now I'd love to give back some of what I've learned so far – which is why I'm offering this semester's House Dance Basics class! House Dance is a dance style that emerged from the club scenes of Chicago and New York in the 1970s and 80s (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGwzoJ7LFMs&t=27s). In this class, we'll explore some of its basic steps, grooves and variations, while also learning a little about where the style comes from and how it has developed over time. Since House Dance has its roots in club culture and community, I'd love for the class to be a space where we can learn from each other, move freely and, most importantly, have fun! No previous experience is needed, and all levels are very welcome to join. Let's groove together!
