K-Pop Choreography
K-Pop (Korean Pop) originates from South Korea and is much more than just music – captivating choreographies make K-Pop unique worldwide by combining energy, precision, and expression. In this course, we will focus on two girl group choreographies that are suitable for both beginners and dancers with prior experience. Step by step, we will learn the moves together, work on synchronization and expression, and finally tie it all together with formations. The joy of dancing together and having fun is at the heart of this course.
We’re excited to meet you!
WORKSHOPS
Intermediate with Ramona: K-pop achieved worldwide popularity in the 2010s and has become an integral part of today's pop culture. The choreographies are just as diverse as the music itself. Dance-wise, it encompasses influences from hip-hop, street dance, contemporary, modern, and Latin American dances, offering all dancers a space for individual expression.
In the workshops, we will learn a choreography of a K-pop song and perform it together in small groups. Dance experience is definitely an advantage given the complex steps, but even more important are fun and motivation.
with Mada: K-Pop choreographies are colorful and diverse, combining various elements from hip-hop, commercial, Afro, contemporary, and more. They offer plenty of freedom for expression—everyone can bring their own style! In this workshop, we'll delve into this colorful world together. In a relaxed atmosphere, we'll work on parts of the choreography to "Hands Up" by Meovv and—time permitting—"Like Jennie" by Jennie, which is heavily inspired by Afro elements. The choreographies are certainly challenging, but the workshop setting makes them suitable for all levels: You can learn without pressure, try things out, and simply have fun dancing.
I look forward to seeing you! Mada
