Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ for short) has revolutionized martial arts more than any other sport in the last 20 years. With its roots in self-defense, BJJ uses realistic and effective techniques throughout with the maxim that technique is superior to pure force. Most of the fighting takes place on the ground, and since punches and kicks are forbidden, fights are won only by submitting the opponent, which is achieved through leverage and chokes. Furthermore, BJJ places special emphasis on agility and flexibility, which are promoted during warm-up training.
