Vibras Latinas
Hip-hop has never been just music, but a cultural phenomenon from the very beginning, characterized by unmistakable expressions of social discontent as well as joy in music, dance, styles and graffiti.
In the 1980s, hip-hop culture spread from the streets of New York City and Chicago to Asia, Europe and Latin America. The music, dance and urban art of young Afro-Americans were adopted by the city teens of Latin America and adapted to their own realities and social challenges.
In expressive choreographies to lat rap, reggaetón, urbano (Latin American hip-hop) and similar styles of music (which can also be very sexy at times), we are honing our dance skills together this semester and letting our dancing legs and hips swing to upbeat latino beats;)
I'm already looking forward to a summer full of Vibras Latinas with you...
